A podcast doesn't necessarily have to be time-consuming and resource-intensive, but you do need a topic that will capture your listeners' attention for the entire duration.
Whether you work in a newsroom or you make a podcast in your living room every other week, coming up with ideas that will work well in audio format can be challenging.
Melody Kramer, formerly of NPR, and Christine Eriksen have put together a helpful Medium post with 200 (free!) ideas that you can try for your next podcast.
The list includes quirkier suggestions, such as interviewing people in your area who share the same last name, but also creating a podcast that is the same length as someone's commute or a news programme about elections with people who don't have the right to vote.
